What exactly is TrashCycle and why are you doing this ?
TrashCycle is a whacky but wonderful experiment being carried out by the boffins at The Vyouz Network. They want to discover just how many people are ready to claim the contents of other people's trash cans - yoghurt pots, egg boxes, milk bottle tops, cardboard, aluminium cans, bottles - you know the kinda thing. TrashCycle really is for recirculating your trash - the stuff nobody wants... or do they ? We're doing it because we're keen about protecting the environment.
How much is TrashCycle going to cost me ?
Nothing. Zilch. Zippo. Zot.
How is TrashCycle funded ?
We are sponsored by The Vyouz Network and funded entirely by voluntary donations.
Who wants my trash anyway ?
All kinds of people ! Schools, kindergartens, charities and fund raisers. Egg farms and people who keep chickens. Recycling plants, people with open fires & log burners, people with broken stuff the same as your broken stuff.
How to I offload my trash on TrashCycle ?
Easy. Just fill out our form.
What kind of trash can I upload to TrashCycle ?
Anything, so long as it's not illegal or offensive. Remember, this site is likely to be used by schools so keep it clean !
I'm impatient. When will I see my trash listed on TrashCycle ?
Assuming you've confirmed your details via the email link we've sent you, your trash will be listed just as soon as a member of TrashCycle has approved it. This will usually take less than 24 hours unless we're all sick or on holiday.
What do I do if my confirmation email doesn't arrive within 10 minutes ?
Check your junk folder. To avoid emails from TrashCycle ending up in your junk folder we recommend that you add noreply@trashcycle.org to your list of contacts.
What do I do with my trash while I'm waiting for someone to claim it ?
Try to ignore it. If this doesn't work, why not make something creative with it ? Failing that, just bag it up and wait. If it get's smelly you might need to put it back in the trash can though.
How long will my trash remain on TrashCycle ?
Unless you remove it it will remain on TrashCycle for 30 days.
How do I remove my trash ?
Login to your account and click the "Remove" link alongside the item you want to remove.
How to I search for trash on TrashCycle ?
How to I claim someone's trash and should I be embarrassed doing so ?
Click on the "Claim this item" link alongside the trash you want. Then fill out the form and wait for them to contact you. Oh, and there's no need to be embarrassed. Remember, you're helping to save the planet.
How to I offer an item to someone ?
Click on the "Offer this item" link alongside the trash you want. Then fill out the form and wait for them to contact you.
How do I become a member ?
There's no registration form to complete. All you have to do is add some trash to TrashCycle.
What do I do if some idiot I don't know uses my email address to register with TrashCycle ?
First of all, don't panic. In the unlikely event of this happening it's easy to fix. You, and only you, will receive an email from TrashCycle notifying you that someone has used your email address to sign up. Click on the UNSUBSCRIBE and/or BLOCK links in the email(s) we send you. This will remove your email address from our system and prevent anyone doing it again.
How do I cancel my membership and will you be upset with me ?
Click on the link in the email we sent you. Yes, we will be upset because we enjoyed having you with us, but not so upset that we won't welcome you back if you change your mind.
How do I completely obliterate all details of myself from TrashCycle ?
Click on the UNSUBSCRIBE and/or BLOCK links in the email(s) we send you.
I completely obliterated all details of myself from TrashCycle and now I think it was a bad idea. Can I unobliterate myself ?
It's tricky, but yes this is possible. If you have blocked your email you will need to contact us and ask (nicely) for us to unblock you.
Why am I (still) receiving the TrashCycle Green Vyouz eZine ? I don't want it !
All our new members get at least one copy of our quarterly eZine full of environmental articles, green product reviews and fantastic eco competitions. If you have subsequently unsubscribed as a member you might still receive an introductory copy of Green Vyouz. This is because our eZines are sent out from a dedicated server using a mailing list especially for the purpose. If your email address has already been transferred to our mailing list before cancelling your membership you might still be "in the system" so to speak. To stop receiving the eZine you will need to click on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email, or contact us and we will remove you manually.
